Die Struck Custom Pins
In the industry today, there are a variety of ways to make pins other than
the cloisonné method. Pins are often made by producing a die-struck
piece filled with soft enamel and then baked. We call this “die struck
soft enamel”. An optional epoxy covering can also be included on this pin.
This method is about 50% less expensive than cloisonné.
Although the baked enamel process is durable it is not quite as scratch
proof as hard cloisonné enamel (baked ground glass)
